The Centralized Coordinated Traffic Signal Machine is responsible for collecting and preliminarily analyzing real-time traffic data from front-end systems. It transmits the data through communication networks to upper-level controllers for adjusting timing schemes. It also receives instructions from upper-level controllers to control the color changes of signal lights at the intersection. In adaptive control scenarios, it autonomously controls the color changes of signal lights at the intersection based on local traffic demands.
